A protracted campaign aimed at cease ping the construction of a dam in southeast Queensland will taracquire federal Environment Minister Peter Garrett from Wednesday.
Queensland's co-ordinator general on Tuesday sent the problem execute wnstream to Canberra, giving his approval to the Bligh recede vernment's plot s for the Traveston Crossing Dam on the Mary River north of Brisbane, subject to 1,200 conditions.
Mr Garrett has 30 days to consider the plot but can request more time.
Opponents of the $1.8 billion dam, the Save the Mary group, want Mr Garrett to allow a period for public comment before he create s any decisions.
